Health is such an important sector to be focused on as one
unhealthy individual can be a carrier of the infection to be spread to the
other individual. Anything taken up as a challenge has always worked. Best
example for this could be ‘Polio
Eradication’ and making India a ‘Polio
Free’ country.
The next venture is the eradication of TB. Union Health
Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has announced that there would be ‘’Free TB India’’ by 2020 called “TB-Mission
2020”.
Bringing Anti
tubercular therapy and DOT under a National Scheme has certainly paved a way
for management but still lacks somewhere and this has been a reason for
developing Tuberculosis cases.
So what is the next
move?
Dr. Harsh Vardhan
said that ‘’TB is a byproduct of
poverty’’ which means that the occurrence is more in the undernourished
individuals. So, necessary measures for enhancing nutrition and financial
support will be taken.
Strategizing on
diagnosis of Tuberculosis with high intensive tools, providing quality drugs,
improving on regimen and drug susceptibility testing may help. Apart from this
free diagnosis and universal treatment may it be Government or a private sector
is also essential.
This is going to be
large ‘’social movement’’ on Health. And TB eradication is going to
the top agenda.
This is now a moral
responsibility of not only Doctors but Medical Administrators and Politicians
as well.
Tuberculosis to one
person could mean to the entire population. So an immediate action against the
spread is very essential.
