India A Polio Free Country After Vaccinating

India has recorded nil Polio cases consecutively for 3 years now. The very last case of Polio was seen in West Bengal in 2011. WHO has also announced India to be a ‘’Polio free country’’. Now this would be enough to place a lime light on the fact that ‘’vaccination plays an important role on protection and good health’’.

Eradication challenge taken up by India
The program started with more than 2.3 million vaccine administrators working hand in hand campaigning for the fight against the disease. Well-known Bollywood celebrities to eminent Cricketers took part in this venture as well.
In this way India even being the second most densely populated country could reach its goal of ‘’Independence from Poliomyelitis’’.

‘’world Polio Day’’ on October 24th is a wonderful occasion to celebrate the victory and also take up a challenge that no child will ever suffer from the dangerous malady ever again.

Immunization for children’s health
Babies are born with minimal immunity which they receive at birth but that is not sufficient enough to fight with outside stress and so children are the primary victims of infections. Vaccinations for children are made aware well before but many times ignored due to negligence which could be hazardous at times. With all the live experiences around and the rate at which infections are spreading this should not happen.

Vaccination during pregnancy is equally important as any infection to the mother is a threat to the child. So care during pregnancy is utmost important.

With new diseases coming up it is always a good option to get vaccinated at every age.
Immunization schedule if followed in a righteous way is a great way keeping oneself safe.

Good ways of Globalization
Now that there is urbanization and technology in every field, immunization schedule is not even required to be remembered. Medical online consultation is also available where one can consult doctor online on health issues.

Get reminders for future vaccines and its doses. Administer vaccine based on the catch up schedule if missed.

When there are numerous ways of safe guarding one then why take a back step?
So a lesson to learn for ’world Polio Day’’ would be ’Vaccinate and remain Disease Free’’
